14th Legislative Assembly elections in Karnataka were held on 5th of May 2013. Elections were held for 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka. The following parties have contested for the elections.

- INC (Indian National Congress)
- BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)
- JD(S) (Janata Dal Secular)
- KJP (Karnataka Janata Paksha)
- BSRCP (Badagara Shramika Raitala Congress Party)
The Congress party has won 122 seats to form the government. Siddaramaiah became the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

- Congress: 122 Seats
- JD(S): 40 Seats
- BJP: 40 Seats
- KJP: 6 Seats
- BRS Congress: 4 Seats
- SP: 1 Seat
In 2008 BJP has won 110 seats and formed the Govt as it was the single largest party at that time. 113+ seats are required by any party to form a government. So, BJP has taken independent MLA's support to come into the power. Yeddyurappa became the CM of Karnataka in 2008.
