In the year 2009 the Congress Party has won the Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat. Shri Lagadapati Raja Gopal of INC Party has won this seat and elected to the 15th Lok Sabha. But he has resigned to his seat in protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. This seat is empty now. This year, Counting of Votes will be started from 8am on the 16th of May 2014, and results will be expected to come by the evening of the same day.
