Holiday will be observed across the Gujarat state for the General Elections 2014. Lok Sabha Elections will be held in Gujarat on 30th April 2014 for all the parliament constituencies and bye elections to 7 assembly constituencies. There are 26 Lok Sabha seats in the state of Gujarat. Elections will be conducted for the following parliament constituencies..
Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West(SC), Amreli, Anand, Banaskantha, Bardoli(ST), Bharuch, Bhavnagar,
Chhota Udaipur (ST), Dahod(ST), Gandhinagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Kachchh(SC), Kheda, Mahesana,
Navsari, Panchmahal, Patan, Porbandar, Rajkot, Sabarkantha, Surat, Surendranagar, Vadodara, Valsad(ST)
Govt offices will remain closed on the Poll day. Holiday is applicable to private sector employees also. Under section 135 B of the Representation of the People Act, paid holiday will be observed on the polling day for people who are enrolled as voters. Gujarat State Govt Employees, employees of various factories, shops, private establishments which are located in Gujarat are allowed to take leave on the election day.
